If you care, be there. Every Registered Democrat is automatically a member of the County Party where you are registered. Even if you were not elected a Delegate at your Precinct Meeting, you can still 1) speak, 2) ask questions, 3) nominate other Candidates from the floor, and 4) eat free food. You cannot be charged a fee to attend, and you are not required to make a donation. It’s all free.

It’s difficult to determine — because there are no official definitions for any of these Progressive Groups — whether they are, or are not, attached to the County Parties in which they reside. Progressive Groups are relatively few, and their Members are only a tiny fraction of all NC Democrats. But they are loud, pushy, and organizing. Under 4 years of encouragement from former Chair Jerry Meek, Members of illegally formed Progressive Groups already comprise 10% of the State Executive Committee ( # ), which is sufficient to control SEC Meetings. Progressives intend to reshape a NC Democratic Party to exclude any who do not think like they think, or believe whatever Progressives may choose to believe at any point in time.

This is why the NCDP Plan of Organization specifically shuns any organization based upon ideology. Such groups — Progressive or otherwise — will ultimately weaken the Party, and render it ineffective in accomplishing the Party’s Prime Directive: Elect ALL Democrats who win their local Primaries.

Progressives loose Elections, because they have, and always will, push large numbers of Moderates and Conservatives out of the Democratic Party. When Progressives were called Liberals, they lost Elections in North Carolina for two long decades.
