A long and twisted tale that wags the Democratic Party

Phil is from Rockingham County. He Emails me his weekly Republican Party updates. His son, Phil Jr, is the District Attorney there. I’m a lifelong Democrat, never having knowingly voted for a Republican. I moved to Rockingham Co with my 22-year old stained glass business to live with Joyce Spear, a retired County Extension Agent. We were married beneath pear trees in her backyard in Eden, serving wine I had made from ripe pears the year before.

In January of 2006, I accepted an invitation from Schorr Johnson, then Communications Director for the State Party under NCDP Chair Jerry Meek, to attend a workshop in Lillington, to result in building a Website for the pitifully small RockCo Democratic Party. I went, and I did it. The computer program Schorr had chosen was free, except we had to pay an Instructor $120 per student. Because the system was incompetently and remotely moderated, it collapsed during a later Update by the Instructor. Turned out she was not an NCSU Professor of Computer Technology as we were told, but a Secretary in the Department, with glorified notions of her abilities, which Schorr bought, hook, line and sinker. But, we didn’t know that yet.

The Board of Elections in Rockingham Co was combining Precincts from 31 down to 19 to save money, and with my novice level of computer experience, I had just entered pages and pages of carefully constructed data so that our Dems in Rockingham could adjust to the complicated changes which would come upon us all too soon at the May Primary. I wanted to lose no voters because they were confused. Plus, we had to reorganize our Demo Party Precincts within entirely new boundaries: 31 Precincts reduced to 19.

The Instructor’s remotely installed Program Upgrade scrambled all data in March. I complained bitterly to the Google Group, which was established for us 2-dozen Webmasters scattered across the State, to self-teach ourselves how to use this monster. I demanded that the earlier Version be restored until the new one was fixed. All our Pages were online, and most folks were getting only garbage when they linked on. The computer program was a jury-rigged, home-made thing, chosen by Schorr because it was free.

My Website was restored. Except: ALL — every bit — of my data was lost by the Instructor. I had to start all over again, not knowing I should have backed up anything. All this was documented to the Group, which embarrassed Schorr for his incompetence, and he eventually lost his job. After the Group collapsed, I sent Emails to hundreds of Dems in RockCo, with copies to NCDP Chair Jerry Meek. When I posted an explanation on the Website, Jerry immediately had our Website destroyed, wiped off the face of the Earth forever. Every appeal to restore it was ignored.

I continued sending Emails to a growing number of Dems across NC about the whole fiasco, not knowing how many County Parties were affected. I began to get reports back about other, unrelated problems in Jerry Meek’s Administration. I began assembling these into Newsletters, and circulation grew statewide.

Meanwhile, locally, I organized a Plan to defeat Republican Phil Berger Sr as our State Senator. He’s a popular lawyer in Eden, where I had begun making gardens around our home. Although Rockingham Co had more registered Dems than Repubs, obviously some Dems were causing Phil to be re-elected, time after time. Using the Precinct Reorganization as a basis, I planed to pull together enough Democratic votes to bring Phil back home from the Senate.

Our State House Representative was a strong Democrat, so I knew it could be done. The recently elected County Chair decided to run against Phil, and so had to step down as Chair. My wonderful wife who had spearheaded the local Campaign for Kerry-Edwards in Rockingham after a neighbor Superior Court Judge asked her to — raising more money for Campaign materials than the local Party raised all year — was elected to be replacement Chair at the April County Convention 3 years ago, which was one of the best attended in a decade because of the work we did organizing the County Party.

By then, Jerry and Schorr were sending out lies to cover what they had done. I intercepted two Emails from Schorr, which said Jerry ordered everyone to ignore whatever I wrote: telling them that I was crazy. Being “crazy” is the ONLY defense sociopaths have when caught with their pants down. You can read more about sociopaths in NC politics here: “She’s a Whack Job!” said the sociopaths.

Jerry’s Progressive Defenders went into Overdrive. Several tried at different times to have my Internet service cancelled. At least one virus was launched which destroyed my Address Book. NCDP 2nd Vice Chair Delmas Parker started working covertly by phone with a twice-ago former RockCo Chair Dick Cartwright — who had led the RockCo Party through years of defeat — to pressure me to shut up about Jerry. At the time, I had no idea how truly rotten Jerry was, nor to what lengths he would go in order to cover his tracks. But I refused to stop reporting what he was doing as it was discovered, fooling myself into believing that Jerry would soon straighten up and fly right. I had no idea at the time how much Jerry and his minions planned to corrupt the Party by planting Progressive Groups across the State.

In June the semi-annual State Executive Committee Meeting was held in nearby High Point, attended by over 600 Democrats from all County Parties. I had to teach a Stained Glass Workshop that weekend in Stokes County, so did not go. My wife (Chair Joyce) went with Dick and SEC Member Pat Morris, both Sat and Sun. Monday was the normal RockCo monthly Party Meeting.

Because I was exhausted from two days on my feet (and I didn’t want my conflict with Jerry to detract from Joyce’s Meeting), I stayed home. However, I did bake my first two loaves of zucchini bread from my garden in Eden, on phone instructions from Joyce from work, and sent them with her to the Meeting. For the 14-year Democratic DA who arrived late from the Courthouse, they served as a bite of supper. She was defeated by Republican Phil Berger Jr in the aftermath from collapse of the RockCo Party, another casualty when Jerry and Delmas fired Joyce as RockCo Party Chair.

Because I was not there, Dick and Pat saw their opportunity to accomplish Delmas’ goal: to shut me up by publicly disgracing my wonderful wife. Dick moved, Pat seconded, that Joyce step down “because she had a conflict of interest,” a term supplied to him by Delmas. Later that night, Joyce described everything that happened at the Meeting — except that she was fired. Only on the next morning as she ran out of the house for work, 11 hours later, did she tell me. So thoroughly embarrassed by her public thrashing, the after-shock trauma sent her into a complete emotional collapse.

I immediately called Cartwright, to find out what happened, and why he had not come to us privately if he thought there was any problem. He admitted he had been coached by Delmas for months, and that his instructions from Lawyer Jerry thru Delmas at the SEC Meeting the day before were for maximum public disgrace, so I would never be able to criticize Jerry again.

At 10:30 that night, I was evicted from my home and business by 2 armed Sheriff’s deputies. I was told the Clerk of Court could authorize my re-entry to get business records. Next day, the Clerk whom I had helped elect, said that was a lie, and if I tried, I’d be jailed. He also promised I’d be appointed a lawyer to defend me, another lie. A week later, the day after Independence Day, an anonymous Judge in an empty Rockingham Co Courtroom stole all the business and personal property I owned in NC.

Now nearly 3 years ago, not one single item has ever been returned. I was never charged with anything. I was never convicted of anything. I was never told what this closed hearing was for, nor what it’s consequences could be. I was told, repeatedly, that if I attempted to save my business, I’d be thrown in jail. Now living in poverty, I cannot afford a lawyer. To this day, DA Phil Berger Jr refuses to prosecute any of the many thieves involved. Thousands now know this story, including everyone in the State Legislature, those who passed whatever law was used to “legalize” this larceny.

Jerry and Delmas failed miserably to shut me up. By destroying my business, leaving me with nothing to occupy my time, I have used time and learned computer skills effectively to uncover more of Jerry’s corruption of the Party. And it is massive.

Here are additional results of Jerry’s Plan to save himself at the expense of the Party. The Rockingham Co Democratic Party never recovered. Their website link posted for years on the NCDP Website never connected to anything. Rockingham County went unusually RED in 2008.

Jerry Meek effectively destroyed any chance of defeating Phil Berger Sr, and guaranteed election of Phil Jr. Jerry Meek is the first Democratic Chair of the State Party to singlehandedly reelect a Republican Senate Minority Leader. As I’ve written a dozen times over, Jerry Meek is the best friend the Republican Party ever had, for this and his other failures. And this week, Phil Berger Sr appeared — stronger than ever — on the State Capitol steps. Phil’s Plan is to be inside the Capitol’s Governor’s Office in 2012. And it was Jerry Meek who greased the inside track for Phil to get there.

Phil stood there at the Tax Day Tea Party as a Monument to Jerry Meek’s foolish and incompetent leadership. Jerry wasted his 4 years of Opportunity building his Cadre of Personal Progressive Body Guards and Hit Men — launching an undeclared Progressive War on his own Party — instead of doing his job to defeat Republicans — the only job which he was elected to do.

If new State Chair David Young does not immediately eject every improperly formed Progressive Group from the Party, then you can count on the next decade in North Carolina belonging to Republicans.

Progressives love to strut and brag that THEY elected Jerry, and that THEY elected Obama. For bringing him to power Jerry repaid them by allowing and encouraging unsanctioned Progressive Groups to silently invade and attach themselves to County Parties. These dozen Progressive Groups are the illegitimate bastards Jerry sired. NOT one of them is a legitimate Auxiliary born of the State Democratic Party. Jerry moved County Party Chairs into covert Rebellion against the State Party, as many as he could find, spending Democratic Party money to crisscross the State time and time again. By giving away control of the Party to select County Chairs, Jerry committed the equivalent of treason against the Party he was elected to protect and serve.

In reality, Progressive Groups had a negative effect on Election 2008. Hoping to swing NC to BLUE, Obama spent millions in NC on TV, visits, and staffing 50 Campaign Offices across NC, because Jerry’s NC Democratic Party could not be counted on to deliver the votes. Jerry’s Progressives pushed more Moderate, Conservative and Unaffiliated Voters into McCain’s Column than they attracted to Obama’s. Progressive Delusions to the contrary, the numbers don’t lie.

There are 800,000 MORE registered Dems than Repubs in NC, and nearly double that registered as Unaffiliated. And yet, NC only went pale Blue in Election 2008 — only by 14,177 votes out of over 5 MILLION cast for President. The total number of Progressives I could find — after 2 years of searching to list them in Edition 106-B — was less than 300. Progressives preached only to themselves, bragging loudly, but converting no one from McCain to Obama. Progressives form the greatest Mutual Admiration Society that ever existed, living fully in a constant State of Denial.

And if Progressive Groups are allowed to spread their divisiveness and dissension within the Party– turning Democrat against Democrat — NC will not only lose in Election 2010, but it will go back to being a RED State in 1012.
